Buttigieg, Representative – North America for the Malta Tourism Authority, points out that Malta is “an ideal destination for couples, cultural explorers, food and wine enthusiasts, luxury travellers, active travelers, and repeat visitors to Europe looking for somewhere new.”
And she said that: “For Canadian travel advisors, the opportunity lies in matching Malta to clients who want something beyond the traditional European itinerary.”
Buttigieg said, in the latest issue of Canadian Travel Press, that: “Our strategy focuses on quality over quantity. The MTA’s approach attracts authenticity and those with an appreciation for culture, history and natural beauty. Our strategic approach to tourism leads travellers to stay longer and stay more frequently throughout the years.”
And she observed: “Canada is one of Malta’s most promising long-haul growth markets. We’ve seen steady growth over the past few years, driven by strong demand for authentic, cultural, and experiential travel; areas where Malta excels.”
