Sports journalist Crissy Froyd recently shared some choice words for fellow sports reporter Diana Russini. This was after Russini announced her resignation on social media after becoming the subject of a viral story. Since then, another news update has come out concerning Froyd.
Crissy Froyd Shared A Post From Diana Russini, Including Her Resignation Letter
Froyd is a reporter known for her work covering the NFL. From 2017 to 2021, she worked with SB Nation. Following this, she started working for USA Today.
Recently, Froyd made headlines for a social media post concerning another media figure, Dianna Russini. For her part, Russini is also a sports journalist and NFL Insider who previously worked for ESPN.
Recently, Froyd shared her response to Russini’s resignation from her position at The Athletic after she was seen spending time with married coach Mike Vrabel in Arizona. At the time, Russini shared a screenshot of her resignation letter on X.
Froyd shared Russini’s message, writing, “I’m sure you were told to submit this or that you’d get fired instead. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.”
News Has Since Come Out That Froyd Herself Has Also Since Lost Her Position
“We know who you really are and what you’ve been up to for years. It does so much detriment to women in sports who have done things the right way.”
Later, Froyd spoke with The Daily Caller, continuing to call out Russini. She alleged, “All of us do know what she’s been up to.”

Froyd continued, “From fights with other reporters in Chili’s parking lots about hooking up with married NFL coaches to everything else, it is almost certainly all true. It was the worst-kept secret in the NFL reporting world for a while.” As the outlet noted, she also alleged to have refused to have Russini act as her mentor at one point.
As noted by Page Six, both Russini and Vrabel, who are both married, were seen in photos at a luxury resort in Sedona, Arizona. The two allegedly were seen hugging and intertwining fingers.
According to TMZ, Froyd has since been let go from her position at USA Today. Speaking with the outlet, she shared that she was “beyond distraught” over the move, noting that Nancy Armour did a similar story for the network without issue. At the time, Froyd claimed, “I struggle to understand the positioning here after that was published, but that apparently I, as an independent contractor, cannot make my own statements on my own social media accounts.”
I would like to acknowledge the statements put out about me recently and that I am also no longer with USA TODAY SMG.
I regret zero of what I said and stand beside it. If you want to talk, my messages are open. My email is operative, too.
I feel I’ve been very transparent and…
