A diverse group of regional talents and international guests gathered at the event explore what it takes to build a sustainable acting career today
What does it take to build a sustainable acting career today? At the fifth edition of ReActing as a Star in Kranj, Slovenia, Cineuropa gathered voices from across the film industry to explore that question.
Programme director Tina Hajon once again brought together a diverse group of regional talents and international guests. We spoke with several of this year’s participants and mentors, including Slovenian actress Katarina Čas, whose international career spans from The Guard to The Wolf of Wall Street; American actor Darren Pettie, known for his work in Mad Men and Foundation; Swedish casting director Pauline Hansson, a long-time collaborator of Ruben Östlund; Italian casting director Maurilio Mangano; British talent agent Joseph Powell of Curtis Brown; and Montenegrin filmmaker Ivan Marinović (The Black Pin, Forever Hold Your Peace).
From casting and typecasting to talent representation, cross-border collaboration and advice for emerging actors, this compilation offers a glimpse into the conversations that continue to make ReActing a valuable meeting point between regional talent and the wider international industry.
