Summer House has been renewed for Season 11, yet Bravo is terrified it could face the same tragic ending as Vanderpump Rules. The two hit series were doing incredibly well when they both faced romantic scandals that tore the cast apart. Now, SH is trying to rebuild, but could this season be the last before a complete overhaul is necessary? Keep reading for all of the details.
Summer House Is Nominated For Its 1st Emmy
This has been an incredible season of Summer House. Before Season 10 began, Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke announced their split. They had been struggling for some time, so everyone saw it coming. However, it was going to be interesting to watch the season and see how it all played out. In the middle of the season, Amanda and her co-star, West Wilson, broke the news that they were dating. This blindsided everyone, as they had previously denied that they were more than friends. Plus, he had dated her best friend, Ciara Miller, and he was close with Kyle, and they were unaware that anything was going on.
The scandal was branded ‘Scamanda’ and was reminiscent of the Season 10 Vanderpump Rules betrayal, ‘Scandoval.’ That was when Tom Sandoval cheated on his girlfriend of a decade, Ariana Madix, with their co-star and best friend, Rachel Leviss. That was the first season the show was nominated for an Emmy. Interestingly enough, Summer House just received its first nomination. After Season 11 of VPR, the show was rebooted with a new cast. Although Bravo has let go of Amanda Batula and West Wilson, they are still allegedly scared SH will suffer the same fate.
The goal is to try to bring some fun twists and fresh blood into the new season:
“There could be some fun crossovers if they are organic to the show. [Kyle] has been seen around town kissing cast members from other shows.”
Kyle was locking lips with Ava Dash from Next Gen NYC and Salley Carson from Southern Charm. Therefore, they could pop in to add spice.
Can It Survive?
Although some Summer House viewers were tired of Kyle Cooke being in his forties with his DJ career, things have changed. He is no longer viewed as a man-child but rather someone who has dealt with a lot and is living his best life. If the right cast comes along and makes the summer a fun one, fans likely won’t miss Amanda Batula. They have already expressed that they are over her on In the City. Moreover, most of the Vanderpump Rules cast stopped being friends naturally, whereas the Summer House gang genuinely appreciates one another. So, what do followers think about a new season?
- Summer House has always been my favorite show and now that Mandy and Westie are gone it can only get better.
- Summer House has always had a rotating cast. Vanderpump Rules did not. Big difference. Summer House cast some great newbies last year. The show will continue to be great, especially now that the two narcs are gone.
Hopefully, the show can continue to thrive and not suffer the same fate. Are you optimistic, or are you hesitant? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
