The Voice has a series of rotating coaches, and one is always pretty hotheaded. Yet, this upcoming season will feature two returning coaches and two first-timers. Now, one of them is being slammed for a seemingly arrogant podcast appearance. Keep reading for more details on what went down and when.
The Voice Coach Causes Quite A Stir
Season 30 of The Voice is set to begin on September 21st with Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson returning. Adam being back has been huge for the show as he is an OG coach. Kelly is a fan favorite and will have exited her long-running talk show. Therefore, viewers will delight in seeing her weekly in some capacity. Adam and Kelly will be joined by first-time coaches Queen Latifah and Riley Green. They are both bringing something unique to the show, with great careers but vastly different backgrounds.
However, Riley Green has seemingly stepped in mud before stepping onto the stage. The country superstar recently appeared on Theo Von’s This Past Weekend podcast. While there, he made himself sound extremely arrogant, yet as the pod went on, it was clear he was just sarcastic. He likes to poke fun at himself, and he and Theo were bros having fun. Unfortunately, not everyone felt that way when it began, and he received immense criticism:
- Nobody loves Riley Green as much as Riley Green loves Riley Green
- I genuinely can’t tell if Riley Green is a complete a**hole, or has the best use of sarcasm in the history of eternity
- Welp, all good on Riley Green content for the rest of my life.
- This Riley dude is a D bag. Theo is the man for being unbothered and always professional/fun.
- Dude’s just kind of a subtle jerk the whole interview..
It’s All In Good Fun
There was so much harsh criticism aimed toward Riley Green. However, once people really broke through, they had a lot of fun with The Voice coach. They saw a different side to him and realized that he is just a fun guy. Moreover, he and Theo Von have a great relationship but do not have to take each other seriously:
- Once you get deep into the episode Riley gives Theo his flowers. So hes definitely a fan. Dude just has a personality that’s difficult to clock at first.
- This man’s sarcasm is next level and I love it
Of course, it is not for everyone, and that is perfectly okay. However, if he wants people to be on his side when it comes to his first season on The Voice, he may want to be a touch kinder. Yet, it is clear that Riley Green is not in the business of caring what anybody thinks.
