Jenna Bush Hager Shared A Childhood Story With Sheinelle Jones During A Recent Episode Of Today
Jenna has established herself as a broadcast journalist, known for her work with Today, especially the show’s fourth hour, which she has co-hosted since 2019. Having worked with a number of guests, she currently co-hosts alongside Sheinelle Jones.
However, long before that, Jenna was already known to many as the daughter of the 43rd U.S. president George W. Bush and former first lady Laura Bush. In addition, she is also the daughter of the 41st U.S. president George H. W. Bush and former first lady Barbara Bush. Throughout her time on the show, Jenna has often shares stories of what it was like growing up in such a political family.
During a recent conversation with Sheinelle on their program, Jenna looked back on a prank she played as a kid. Jenna shared, “Prank calling is so fun. Did you ever prank call?” For her part, Jones admitted, “Oh my gosh. Of course.”
Jenna then noted that there was a time when she and her twin sister, Barbara, once got “very close” to being “spanked” for a prank call involving an important figure. It was none other than her own grandfather, George H. W. Bush, when he served a vice president under President Ronald Reagan, long before either he or his son served as president themselves.

Jenna revealed, “Barbara and I, we were 5, and we kept prank calling the vice president’s office. And we were like, ‘Where’s da pwesident?’ And they were like, ‘What is happening?’”
Jenna continued, “My parents came home, and we were actually at a friend’s house — I don’t know how we got the number — and my parents were so mad at us. We kept calling my grandpa’s office over and over again being like, ‘Blah, blah, blah, pwesident,’ and hang up.” For her part, Jones replied, “That is hilarious.”
