Earlier this year, Savannah Guthrie dealt with the horror of her mother, Nancy, going missing from her Arizona home. As the months have gone by, the Today star has been putting on a brave face and has been trying to regain a sense of normalcy while helping with the search. Recently, she could be seen attending a celebrity social event for the first time since the case came to light.
Savannah Guthrie Initially Stepped Away From Today In Light Of Her Mother’s Disappearance, But Returned In April
Guthrie started working for The Today Show back in 2011. The following year, she would debut as a co-anchor, taking over for Ann Curry.
Back in February, news had come out that Savannah’s mother, Nancy, had gone missing from her home in Catalina Foothills in Tucson, Arizona. At the time, Guthrie stepped away from her duties on Today, including her planned coverage of the 2026 Winter Olympics. Guthrie would later make her return to the morning show the following April, but has since taken scheduled breaks from the show.
Recently, Guthrie has been trying to regain a sense of normalcy amid the horrifying case, including her return to Today. As noted by TMZ, she also appeared to be re-entering the celebrity social scene with her first red carpet appearance since her mother’s disappearance.
Guthrie could be seen attending the U.S. Open Exhibition Match event in New York City this past Tuesday. The Today star was seen in a floral black dress, accessorized with pieces of jewelry.
