The 23rd match of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2026 produced a breathtaking contest between the Barbados Tridents and St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, with Quinton de Kock‘s explosive century setting the stage for a huge total. However, amid the sixes and boundaries, Navin Bidaisee produced one of the match’s most memorable moments with a sensational diving catch to end the South African batter’s spectacular innings.

Quinton de Kock lights up CPL with blistering century

Quinton de Kock was at his destructive best for the Barbados Tridents, tearing into the Patriots bowling attack with a magnificent 106 off 57 deliveries. The left-hander combined power with precise strokeplay throughout his stay at the crease. He found the boundary regularly and ensured that Barbados maintained a formidable scoring rate as they looked to post a daunting total.

De Kock’s century was particularly significant as it marked his 10th hundred in T20 cricket, putting him among an elite group of players to have reached the milestone. His achievement places him alongside celebrated T20 run-scorers such as Virat Kohli and David Warner.

His extraordinary knock propelled the Tridents to 217/4 in 20 overs, leaving the Patriots with what appeared to be a mountain to climb.

Navin Bidaisee takes a splendid catch to get rid of the Proteas legend

Just when De Kock appeared capable of carrying his side beyond an already imposing total, Bidaisee produced a piece of fielding brilliance that changed the momentum of the contest. The dismissal came off Naseem Shah’s bowling. The Pakistan pacer delivered a low full toss around the off stump, and De Kock attempted to loft the ball towards deep cover.

The shot seemed destined to reach safety, but Bidaisee had other ideas. Stationed in the deep, Bidaisee raced across the field before realizing that simply running to the ball would not be enough. He threw himself forward in a spectacular full-length dive and managed to get both hands underneath the ball just inches above the surface.

Despite having earlier put down a chance, Bidaisee showed remarkable composure when the opportunity mattered most. His recovery was exceptional, and the catch brought an end to De Kock’s magnificent innings. The Tridents batter received a standing ovation as he walked back after an innings that had threatened to take the game away from St Kitts & Nevis.

While De Kock’s hundred gave Barbados the upper hand, the Patriots refused to surrender. St Kitts & Nevis produced a remarkable chase of the 218-run target, maintaining their composure despite the enormous asking rate. Their batters kept the scoreboard moving and eventually completed a memorable six-wicket victory.
