Wendy Williams has been going through an incredible amount over the last several years. She has been living in an assisted living facility and suffering from primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia. A documentary was made following her struggles, and there were requests to block it, which failed. A lawsuit ensued, and now, there is a huge update. Wendy Williams Doc Update
Fans loved Wendy Williams on her talk show and were sad to see it end. Yet, they knew that she was having personal struggles and needed to take a break. Things truly started to spiral; Wendy appeared to be battling alcohol addiction, and then it was revealed that she had primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia. A documentary was made called Where Is Wendy Williams?, and it was somewhat exploitative. Knowing this, there was an attempt to stop it from airing.
However, that did not work, and it became a success. Her court-appointed guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, did not want the documentary to see the light. She felt that it was a bad idea given Wendy’s medical struggles. A suit ensued, but now that has been settled as Sabrina and A&E have dropped the case. It is unclear what led to this happening, but it is likely for the best. Wendy has been working tirelessly to be freed from under Sabrina’s wing. As for the documentary, Sabrina claimed that Wendy had no business being filmed.
That was heavily disputed by the network. It could have been dropped, given that Wendy Williams has claimed that she is just fine. She even has people from the facility backing this up and stating that she is lucid. Moreover, she has undergone cognitive tests to prove her case, and it is still ongoing.
Is This A Win?
As for whether or not this is a win, the documentary has already aired, and people saw Wendy Williams raw. They got to see her at her worst, so it seems to be too late. Plus, as aforementioned, Wendy does not care for her guardian. So, for Sabrina to speak on Wendy’s behalf may be disregarded. As for fans and followers, were they happy with the outcome?
