India’s resale pioneers haven’t had it easy. When Anvita Mehra and Jharna Gianchandani launched a designer resale platform in 2014, customers didn’t want their partners or family members finding out they were buying — or even selling — secondhand goods. “That’s how hush-hush transactions had to be,” recalls Mehra. So, the pair decided to turn that need for discretion into a selling point, naming the company Confidential Couture.
