Lauren Koslow is known for her work with Days of Our Lives. However, soap fans recently saw her on another drama: The Young and the Restless. Recently, the actress opened up about what it was like appearing in Genoa City, complete with a touching admission.
Days Of Our Lives‘ Lauren Koslow Has A Special Connection To The Young & The Restless
Koslow is an actress known for a number of roles in soaps. For many, she is best known for playing Kate Roberts on Days of Our Lives, a role she has had since 1996 when she took over for Deborah Adair.
However, Koslow has been in a number of soaps throughout her career. One of her first television roles was actually on The Young and the Restless, playing Lindasy Wells. She also portrayed Margo Lynley on its sister series, The Bold and the Beautiful.
However, Koslow recently found herself making her return to Genoa City. Back in May, it was announced that she would step into the role of Jill Abbott, as the Oregon-based Jess Walton was unavailable. Appearing as the character for five episodes, viewers saw Koslow on the soap the following June.
Speaking with TV Insider, Koslow recently talked about her return to the soap. She admitted that the call to fill in, which came from head writer Josh Griffith, was a surprise. As she explained, “They were asking if I could step in and help out. It was crazy because I heard on a Friday and it was for the next week, but I was thrilled.”
While Koslow had to brush up on the character’s story as of late, she reminded fans that she actually had a history with the character. As she pointed out, “It’s so funny because I do know Jill because I blackmailed Jill as Lindsey, but that was Brenda Dickson’s Jill. I’ve seen Y&R with Jess on it, but it’s been a while, so I wanted to get up to date because there’s a lot of history. So, I was going to the fan sites, so I could really read what’s been going on because the audience knows best.”
Koslow Noted That Things Felt Like They Were Coming Full-Circle
In fact, remembering one of her first jobs made the moment all the more special for her. The actress continued, “When Josh first asked me, I told him, ‘This would be so amazing because for me, it would be totally full-circle. “My first job has a special place in my heart.”
“It started my whole relationship with the Bells [the family that created both Y&R and The Bold and the Beautiful]. It’s something that I didn’t think would probably ever happen, but it was so positive. It brought back so many wonderful memories.”

According to the actress, the fact that she was trusted with the role also gave her quite the confidence boost. She continued, “It meant a lot to me that they trusted me to walk into a heavy storyline in terms of its emotional content, last minute, and memorize all this dialogue and do it. It’s the best validation of your work and your career.”
“Normally, I’m self-effacing with all these things, but you know, it felt really, really good, and this kind of recognition means more to me than any other kind. I realized that it’s the best kind of recognition because it really is for your work. It felt really good.”
