Friday, August 28: Montreal Alouettes at Winnipeg Blue Bombers (+5.5) at 8:30 p.m. EDT
The Montreal Alouettes will visit the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Friday night, where the Blue and Gold are substantial home underdogs. These teams last met in the 2025 East Semi-Final, where Winnipeg erased a 22-point deficit to lead in the second half, before ultimately falling 42-33 at Percival Molson Stadium. The Alouettes have made no changes to their starting lineup this week, while Deatrick Nichols will be a game-time decision for the Blue Bombers.

Saturday, August 29: Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Calgary Stampeders (-6.5) at 3:00 p.m. EDT
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats will visit the Calgary Stampeders on Saturday afternoon, where the Stamps are heavy home favourites. The Ticats have yet to formally name a starting quarterback, though it appears Tre Ford will be under centre as Harrison Frost is still dealing with the back injury that kept him on the bench last week. Vernon Adams Jr. and Dedrick Mills both seem likely to play for Calgary, as head coach and general manager Dave Dickenson indicated both are trending positively after suffering head injuries before last week’s bye.
ABBOTT: The Stampeders’ health is encouraging, but this spread is too wide.

BALLANTINE: If Vernon finishes the game, this shouldn’t be close.

Saturday, August 29: Toronto Argonauts at Saskatchewan Roughriders (-4.5) at 7:00 p.m. EDT
The Toronto Argonauts will visit the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Saturday night, where the Green and White are favoured at home. The Boatmen have won three of their last four games, and defeated the Riders at Mosaic Stadium back in June for what was technically considered an Argonauts “home game.” Meanwhile, the Riders are embroiled in a two-game losing skid. Toronto linebacker Cameron Judge hasn’t practiced this week due to a hip injury, while Samuel Emilus will not play for Saskatchewan after being placed on the six-game injured list with a leg injury.
ABBOTT: Saskatchewan is too well-coached not to bounce back when they need to.

BALLANTINE: A midseason slump just in time to turn things around on Labour Day? Feels like that is what is fated.

BORDIGNON: With all these Riders injuries, Argos plus money is a shock. I think they win, let alone cover 4.5.

FILOSO: The Argos seem to have a good thing brewing, whereas Saskatchewan is banged up and slumping.

GASSON: The Riders should be mad after how they lost last week. They’ll get a boost from a big crowd.

HERRERA-VERGARA: The Riders can’t afford to lose three in a row. The Argos have been inconsistent.

Sunday, August 30: B.C. Lions at Ottawa Redblacks (+5.5) at 7:00 p.m. EDT
The B.C. Lions will visit the Ottawa Redblacks on Sunday night and are understandably favoured in the nation’s capital. B.C. has won four straight games, thanks in large part to the strong play of their defence, but quarterback Nathan Rourke still isn’t satisfied. On the flip side, the Redblacks underwent even more change this past week, firing vice-president of football operations Shawn Burke and bringing in Jim Popp as a senior football advisor. The team has lost 16 consecutive games dating back to last year, and is officially the seventh team in modern CFL history to start a season 0-10.

BALLANTINE: I know that someday, I’ll get it wrong picking against the Redblacks, but today isn’t that day.

FILOSO: The last two times the Lions came to Lansdowne, they left as losers. The Redblacks keep that streak alive and get their first win of the season.
