Disney+ is bringing Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman back together, but this time it’s not a Marvel project.
The new untitled docuseries has been greenlit by Disney+ and is set to follow SailGP’s Bonds Flying Roos from Australia, which the pair co-own. Formerly known as the Australia SailGP Team, the crew has been a dominant powerhouse in the competition. The show documents a global racing season defined by speed, pressure and high stakes with a stadium-style championship where identical 50-foot catamarans race in close-to-shore courses at speeds of up to 100 km/h.
The show will feature the behind-the-scenes of owning the team, filled with humour and pressure situations, while capturing life inside one of the world’s most demanding sports leagues.
“This is our first collaboration since Deadpool & Wolverine, and we once again anticipate action, comedy, heart, but with a lot more water. And (fingers crossed) pirates. We hope there’s pirates in SailGP,” Jackman and Reynolds said on joining the project together.

But, this isn’t Reynolds first Disney+ docuseries; the popular Welcome to Wrexham follows him and Rob McElhenney as they document the events of the Welsh football club Wrexham A.F.C after its purchase by the two. The show went on to receive critical acclaim, winning eight Primetime Emmy Awards and two Critics’ Choice Television Awards.
The docuseries is produced by Maximum Effort and Eureka Productions in partnership with SailGP and the BONDS Flying Roos team. Brent Hodge directs and serves as showrunner, while McElhenney executive produces the series.
The currently untitled series starring Reynolds and Jackman will be available on Disney+ and Hulu in the U.S., but has yet to receive an official release date.
