GOCRITIC! Animafest Zagreb 2026
by Eda Üner, Magdalena Nieświec, Viktor Toth
Three GoCritic! participants come together to discuss inclusivity and accessibility in feature films at Animafest alongside a conversation about several shorts from the Grand Competition
In the third and final episode of the GoCritic! Podcast from Animafest Zagreb, Eda Üner and Magdalena Nieświec discuss Momoko Seto’s 2025 Cannes title and EFA nominee Dandelion’s Odyssey. Alongside the film itself, which was made accessible to audiences with sight and hearing disabilities, they explore what it takes to make films more inclusive, which Animafest has paid special attention to.
In the second part of the episode, Magdalena is joined by Viktor Toth to revisit highlights from the Grand Competition – Short Film. Their conversation ranges from the programming curiosity of A Pint of Bitter by Conor Kehelly and A Taste of Beer by Xie Li, as well as Please by Anna Mantzaris, The Girl Who Cried Pearls by Chris Lavis and Maciek Szczerbowski, and Autokar by Sylwia Szkiladz, which received a Special Mention from the jury.
