The Mexican conglomerate Grupo México announced plans on Monday to combine its power generation assets with Saavi Energía, a company controlled by Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), a subsidiary of the world’s largest asset manager, BlackRock.  According to a Grupo México press statement, the merger covers 14 power plants located in high-demand areas across Mexico, with a total capacity of 4,510 megawatts (MW). The Federal Communications Commission is reviewing the broadcast licenses of local stations directly owned by ABC.
