To celebrate the release of Zara Larsson’s new album, Midnight Sun: Girls Trip, she appeared on the Today Show. She ushered in the highly popular Summer Concert Series on Friday, May 8th. Unfortunately, her performance fell flat for some, with viewers feeling she was a tad too sexual, and ultimately hurting the current “generation.” Keep reading for more of what was said regarding Zara.
A Controversial Performance
Starting in the spring, the Today Show hosts a bevy of musical guests for the Summer Concert Series. Fans gather outside, rain or shine, to enjoy the free concerts and sing their hearts out. They get a glimpse of the beloved hosts while taking in all that the city has to offer. It is held at the TODAY Plaza at Rockefeller Center in New York City, which is the perfect locale, and the first guest was none other than Zara Larsson. Her new remix album, Midnight Sun: Girls Trip, was released on May 1st. Therefore, she was the perfect choice.
Unfortunately, not all viewers were impressed by Zara’s performance and felt that it was too sexual. Moreover, they believed she was teaching young viewers a bad example, with one person tweeting:

The dancers donned bra-like tops with bows and jewels along with micro shorts. Zara had a halter bra with capped sleeves and her toned tummy exposed. She paired it with a mini skirt that left little to the imagination.

However, some had praise for Zara Larsson and felt that she was beautiful and amazing. They loved her performance and how she pushed through even though her heel broke.
A Mixed Bag
Regardless of the negative feedback, it was a fun performance, and Zara Larsson has a lot of support. Even Shakira sent her a shout-out as they will be collaborating on a new music video. So, despite some pushback, Zara’s Today Show appearance may have gained her a new fanbase who never knew who she was prior:

Regardless of what people have to say, Zara looked incredible, and she is proud of who she is. Lastly, people seem to love her, and she likely won’t let a few bad comments get her down.
